The South West has been upgraded by the Met Office from the weather warning ‘be aware’ to ‘be prepared’ in regards to the oncoming icy weather. Sleet, ice and snow are predicted for Corsham for the end of the week, starting tonight.

Check out our top links to keep you updated on travel news and which schools, roads or buses are up and running.

The Met Office has warned of heavy snow which could amount to twenty centimetres in some places, but generally around five to ten. Got any weather predictions for us?

One Corsham resident commented via the Corsham People Facebook page that the snow should arrive on Saturday, “after my works ‘appy Crimbo party.” Could the snow interfere with your plans?

During the last bout of snow, a large portion of the South West remained untouched, but Chippenham, Corsham and Melksham were left with numerous ice hazards in the area.

At current the town is being subjected to the forecast chilly winds and rain, but snow has yet to make an appearance.

Which parts of Corsham should we attempt to steer clear from during the second wave of the cold snap? Coppershell in Gastard is one road that is better left untouched if ungritted, but where else would you recommend to steer clear from?

The bend in Lypiatt Road by the railway is dodgy at the best of times with cars and vans parked on the bend. When it's icy best go around the other way.
