Corsham Bus Service Reduced: Do You Use Public Transport?

The Corsham Bus Service will be reduced after July 2011 due to a lack of locals using public transport.

Do we need more buses in the area or would you rather drive than hop on any of those local bus services affected?
“Insufficient usage makes these journeys difficult to justify,” commented Fred Sheppard, Chairman of the Box Parish Council. Is a rising cost of public transport to blame for more locals hopping into their cars than queuing up for the bus?
The bus services affected were listed on the Box Parish Council site, which revealed the following services to be altered:
Service 231 (Bath, Box, Corsham, Chippenham): There will be a withdrawal of the weekday evening extension of service between the Pewsham Estate and Calne.
Service 232 (Bath, Box, Corsham, Chippenham): There will be a withdrawal of Sunday evening journeys.
Service 272 (Urchfont, Devizes, Melksham, Box, Bath): There will be a withdrawal of Sunday evening journeys after 6.30pm.
“If the removal of these services can be shown to produce hardship, you should contact the Parish Council Clerk without delay,” advised the Box Parish Council Chairman, but assured locals that, “No further changes to Council funded services are proposed at this time.”
Do you rely on public transport to make your way around the local area? How do you travel from the outlying villages into Corsham town or further afield? Would you use public transport if it was more affordable?

As an additional note: I come from Brighton, where you can easily travel for 20 miles for under £3.50. Instead of two companies running two services at the same time and not accepting each other's tickets, then stopping from 8-11 at night, they coordinated services and cooperated, things would work so much more smoothly and they wouldn't be running at such a loss. In Sussex, every bus company honoured every return ticket, not just their own, as they coordinated which buses ran where. And, you know what? It worked.

ReportWhat Sunday evening services? I've lived in a few different places, and the Bath-Corsham line has been both the most expensive and most ****-poor line I've ever had to use.
