CORSHAM UNDER 8ʼs - Dorchester Festival
Corsham Under 8's rugby team continued their stunning run of Festival form last Sunday with victory on tour in the Dorchester Festival. Despite an inevitable shortage of sleep - as one would expect on tour - the boys hit the ground running with a stunning 7-2 victory over hosts Dorchester.
With Trowbridge failing to field a side there were only 4 teams playing. Next up was North Dorset who were also undefeated. In a thrilling game, dominated by defense, the game finished tied at 4 apiece.
This meant the Festival would most likely be decided by points difference, and so a big margin of victory was needed in Corsham's final game against Old Bristolians.
A dominant 8-5 Corsham win was just what the doctor ordered and meant North Dorset needed to win their final game by at least 6 tries, a deficit which proved just beyond them.
Corsham's squad all played their heroic part in winning a wonderful Festival and finishing the 2011 Tour in spectacular style.
Squad: William Ford, William Arrowsmith, Isaac Nisbet, Alex Croker, George Elkins, Harry Kernan, North Goodwin, Angus Bollen, Edward Bollen, Hugo White and Tommy Gould.
