The Corsham Running Club is the perfect way to fight off the signs of indulgence after the festive season and welcome the New Year with a new fitness regime.

Dig out those old running shoes and start doing something to fight off the signs of indulgence after the holidays.
The club meets weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.50pm outside of the Corsham Community Centre and also has a class on Wednesdays for beginners at 6.15pm which restarts on the 6th of January.
“I’ve been a member for five years,” said David Bethune, one of the members of the Corsham Running Club.
Starting something new can be intimidating at first, especially with many experienced runners already part of the group, but there is something for everyone regardless of ability.
“We also run what we call the one-mile club which his targeted at those who are new to running and basically what you do is you start running a mile and then running a bit more than that.”
Mr Bethune added, “There’s always somebody of your ability and you can jog along with and it’s absolutely fine. You run five miles and you don’t know you’ve done it because you’ve got someone chatting to you the whole way.”
Often there is a perception that newcomers aren’t as welcome or those just starting out with a new fitness routine won’t fit in, but David dispelled any notion of that.
“It’s one of those things that once you go there you think ‘what was I worried about’?”
