Wanted to add another review after visiting the Hare and Hounds last Saturday. Loved the food, could eat it all over again and the garlic bread is to die for. I had one of that day's specials - the Mushroom Risotto. I've been thoroughly impressed each time I've eaten at this local pub because it's proper, warming pub food. It's comforting, good quality and the service is friendly. I keep going and will continue to. Great for a pub meal out with friends.

Mark & Hayley welcome you to The Hare & Hounds, Corsham. The only pub in Corsham to be awarded Cask Marque and featured in The Good Beer Guide, We're proud to serve award winning cask-conditioned real ales from independent local and regional brewers plus over 20 wines from around the Old & New Worlds. Awarded Best Leased/Tenanted pub in Britain at the Great British Pub Awards in 2011, and in the final four of the BII Licensee of the Year Award.
We're neither a gastro pub, nor restaurant that also serves beer, The Hare & Hounds is a pub, it has always been a pub and always shall be a pub.
Our menu comprises of comforting homemade fayre, made with produce from local suppliers.
Award winning Neston Park steaks and homemade beef burgers; individually hand crafted pies from Pieminister; fantastic bangers from the famous Bath Sausage Shop as well as pasta dishes made fresh to order; beer battered cod; salads, baguettes and toasted ciabattas, there is sure to be something to suit all tastes... ooh and fresh, hand made chips.
While we welcome families wishing to eat with us, we do not feel properly equipt to entertain children for long periods of time while their parents drink, so it has been necessary to adopt a policy of children only permitted when eating a meal with their parents/guardians. Any reports of us being unfriendly towards children are posted by people who wanted to continue drinking for several hours after eating, while their children became increasingly bored and unruly. Please read reviews with an open mind, because there are two sides to every story. We really don't want to turn customers away.
Along with a number of other brilliant dishes, the garlic bread at the Hare and Hounds is sublime. Filling food which is good quality and proper pub grub. You don't often find places which feel like a bit of thought has gone into the meal and it's not just stuff pulled out of a packet and shoved in a microwave. Also love the chips. No pub is a proper pub without thick, chunky and crispy chips and this place has them in abundance.
Really nice pub and one of the best in Corsham. Friendly staff, great reputation and a nice menu. I was pleasantly surprised last I went here and I would go again and again. There is usually enough parking too and there's a nice little garden along the side tucked away from the main busy road through Pickwick.
We have been to the Hare and Hounds many times over the past seven years since the current owners have been there and have never been dissapointed with the experience. If you want quality food, competetive prices and service to match then this is the place to go. Good luck to Mark and Hayley and their staff for doing such a good job in these difficult times and having to deal with some difficult if not downright awkward people on the way.
