Are you ready for winter driving?

The last two winters have been pretty bad for snow and ice, will it be 3 in a row? We know from experience that the council doesn't grit residential areas so get to know where your nearest yellow grit bin is. They are for DIY gritting of bends and hills (Not for your own driveway) and I also keep some in a bucket in my boot for emergencies.

Are your tyres getting low on tread? Consider putting winter tyres on. Normal tyres lose their flexibility when temperatures drop below 7c and will give you less traction. Winter tyres are made of a softer composite rubber that maintain their flexibility in low temperatures, so it is not just in snow and ice you will benefit but all round winter driving. They are a little bit more expensive but I think the benefits of better traction out weigh the cost.
Safe driving Corsham People.

Even the buses stopped during the last bit of snow! Nothing was moving in Bath. Not looking forward to it this year.

ReportAs much as a pain and hassle as the snow is, Corsham doesn't half look picturesque when buried under it. I did hear about a few accidents last we had the bad weather though, and had my own fair share of slipping over. Just didn't risk going out in the car.

ReportThanks for this - I'm a bit worried about the snow and ice this year. We couldn't get out of our drive last it snowed as our lane is on a hill: if we managed to get out, we could never get back in again!
