It's a nice place with decent beers but the location is the best bit. It's lovely to go for a nice crisp autumnal walk and then warm up back at the Quarryman Arms. It's never overly busy when I've been in the afternoons and yet it has a lovely atmosphere.

It's a nice place with decent beers but the location is the best bit. It's lovely to go for a nice crisp autumnal walk and then warm up back at the Quarryman Arms. It's never overly busy when I've been in the afternoons and yet it has a lovely atmosphere.
It does feel like an old building and they're always friendly. It's often forgotten about when thinking of the pubs in the local area, but that gives it a certain charm. It usually quite busy when I've been in there but it's not hard to find a table and on a nice day, it's great to sit outside with a drink.
The Quarryman's Arms is a wonderful pub full of character. Perfect for those hiking or potholing in the area, it benefits from splendid views over the Colerne valley and from its old life as cottages for the quarry miners back in the 19th century. As such, much of the inside is decorated with old mining equipment, as well as maps and evocative photographs. There is a very nice modernised room with an open fire, and a very good range of all kinds of drinks, including handpumped ales, vintage cognacs, and a staggering range of whiskeys. The snack menu is reasonably priced, while the main menu for the restaurant section offers some particularly exotic dishes well worth paying extra for.
I'll always remember the Quarryman's Arms for the go-to place to settle down in for a bit of respite from the 'Pig & Jig'. After all that noise and excitement, the tavern offered a really nice and relaxed feel after all the hubbub going on out of doors. It's cosy and authentic and has a great and inviting atmosphere. I popped in for a drink and though it was busy it didnt feel crowded. I found a table easily enough and theyve got a nice menu of things on offer. They seemed reasonably priced and theres a lot to be said for the location. It truly feels like a little country pub thats very inviting, cosy and where you feel truly at home.
