What we are wishing for is that parking in that road is limited so not to obstruct the road width and to give some semblance of safety. It does seem that what is happening now no one at the MOD or Wiltshire Council is bothered to find a sensible solution. As I have said before an accident is waiting to happen. How many more times must we warn about this dangerous situation.

Also I have to just say in response to "jacktheladie", if you can prove, with photographic evidence, that MoD staff were causing a parking problem all the way to Corsham Post Office as you have categorically stated in writing up there, I will personally quite gladly buy your first year's parking permit. I rather suspect you mean Hawthorn Post Office. Please be careful what you write, as the press (who I am very aware are following this closely) will freely misquote you to their own ends.

I think people might want to be careful they don't get what they wish for here. When something similar flared up at another (totally unconnected) location the council's answer was to introduce a parking permit scheme - which, while it did admittedly solve the immediate problem insofar as it moved it elsewhere, also meant that residents ended up having to pay £50 a year to park on the road outside their own houses...

I have had to use the Corsham Post Office on this last Monday as there were no Parking Spaces any where and we got to reverse back up as H G V was traveling up so was luckey to even get out with out a smah up not going there again untill somethings done the lunie that set this mess up should get canonised.
It will now be up to Rt Hon James Gray who has quickley responded and the Buck Stops at General Tim Inshaw Base Comander who is over all responsible to get it sorted no good telling them not to block the road as he was seen doing but a decisive move resolve this mess.
What about Car Sharing we did do this when traveling to Bristol 30 Years ago 4 of us.

I drove down today at about 3pm and it was a nightmare- and some cars were just not giving way- tempers were flaring whilst MOD staff sit in their new offices and seem totally unconcerned about local people. Welcome to Westwells Car Park!
