My Snow Patrol

I am keen ensure elderly constituents are looked after during the cold snap so yesterday I popped in on the residents of Castle Lodge this afternoon to see how they were coping in the arctic conditions.
It’s so important during this cold weather to just check up on elderly relatives, friends and neighbours. The ice can be treacherous, making it even more important to make sure the elderly have everything they need and don’t need to go out unnecessarily.
I am always keen to hear the views of his future constituents and discussed at length the NHS with Kitty Sparks, 93, who worked as a nurse for over 50 years. After a cup of tea with Kitty, I joined some of the residents at their group activities that were running as normal and was even invited to join them for Keep Fit next week.
Wiltshire Council have this week launched an emergency helpline, 01225 713158 for elderly and vulnerable residents. The phone lines are manned from 8am to 9pm every day. This is a great initiative, but I really hope people can pop in on their neighbours at this time and make sure everyone is safe during this cold weather.
I created a video of my visit which can be found here.

Very important to keep an eye on the vulnerable when the weather conditions are like this! I've heard of so many of my friends' elderly relatives slipping on the icy pavements and breaking bones - we need to look out for everyone in our community.
