Local blues rock band Corinthian Casuals are appealing to the people of Corsham and Box to get behind them in just over a week's time as they embark on the recording of their first ever live album.

The band are having their next show at the Queens Head in Box, a popular local live music venue, recorded by landlord Dean Creighton and his team in their dedicated studio room with the intention of releasing the cream of the crop through several formats early next year. The band have also reportedly been working on some rare original tracks, which they will use the show, which takes place on Saturday 16th October, to play for the first time in public.

Singer Stu Joslin, who spoke to us as he attempted to complete the new songs in time for the night of the record, says that this is an exciting time for all concerned with the band.

'When Dean offered us the chance to make an album at their place, we grabbed it with both hands.  I've spent a lot of time down there over the last few months rehearsing for different projects, and we've also played there several times ourselves already so we know what a great place it is to play music. Being local lads too, it'll be an absolute blast to make our first album in Box.'

'We're also all big fans of our friend Innes Sibun's live album 'The Box Set', which he recorded at the pub a couple of years ago, and if we can achieve anything like that with ours, then we'll be very happy people!'

'We're just beginning to roll out the publicity for the event today, and we know from previous experience that it can sometimes be difficult to get people interested enough to come along, so we just want to encourage the good people of our home towns, all the people who saw and enjoyed us at the Pig & Jig and other gigs besides to come out on the night, support a local band and get involved with our record – because without an audience to play to, it simply won't work as well!'

The show, which will be happening in the 'Long Room' at the back of the pub, will take place on Saturday October 16th at 9pm and there will be no charge for admission.

Can't wait for this. I'm a big Corinthian Casuals fan. Can't wait to hear the original tracks - I'm sure they will be amazing. They were fantastic at the Pig & Jig: the entire crowd on Box Hill will testify to that.
