Pickwick Protests to be Answered at Upcoming Area Board Meeting

An Area Board Meeting addressing the Basil Hill and traffic concerns is to be held at Corsham School Hall on 26th August at 7pm.
The developments at Basil Hill Barracks, bringing an increase of traffic up to 200% on some roads, was a key issue raised by residents of Corsham at the last Area Board Meeting.
The upcoming items of discussion will be responses to those questions posed last meeting and hopefully an answer to those people living on Pickwick Road concerned about the implications these future developments will have of their 17th Century properties.
Noise pollution, brickwork blackened by plumes of exhaust smoke and vibrations from the vehicles on the roads were just one of the many concerns of those present at the last meeting in the Town Hall.
Councillors assured the public that traffic lights would be the solution and cause less cars to be backed up along the road outside the Hare and Hounds but the signs of protest have not yet come down and it is more than likely that the public’s opinion on the plans for Corsham roads will be as unwelcome as they were at the last Corsham Area Board Meeting.
Refreshments will be provided at the meeting and the press and public are invited to attend.

WHY OH WHY do we need these traffic light in Corsham ,when the story is there will be no more M O D staff additions in fact there will be less .If you travel in Corsham in the last week or so you will have seen what one set of traffic lights can disrupt traffic in a big way and these light are temporary .I am sure if Wiltshire council was to pay we would not have them at all. SO DON'T PUT THEM UP, WE DON'T NEED THEM. Spend the money on some thing useful Terry Reynolds
