Corsham Somerfield to turn Co-Op, Will Local Businesses Suffer?

Corsham’s Somerfield supermarket will re-open on Friday as a Co-Op supermarket. The shop closed last Friday and its re-opening will mean more services to the public. The Wiltshire Times described it as getting a ‘face lift’ so comment below and tell us what you would like to see in the supermarket.
But will this change to the supermarket that mean that the local businesses within Corsham lose out?
A new kiosk is to be put in place, selling more deli products and hot food. Corsham already has a popular delicatessen known as The Deli (their Fireside Chutney is worth a try) which sells a number of fantastic foods to tempt anyone’s taste-buds.
On a brighter note, the cheerful staff employed by the company will all retain their jobs and probably be issued with new uniforms to replace the turquoise and navy ones.
Will people turn to this new Co-Op rather than visit MyLoaf? Will your shopping habits change? Rather than a Co-Op supermarket, what would you like to see in its place? Sainsbury’s Express? 24 Hour Tesco? Or do you think we have all we need provided by local shops along the high street such at the butchers and on market days?

kindcarer, the opening ceremony was at 10am, I think. The store actually opened at 7am though, so the kids hopefully didn't have to wake up too early! Does anyone have any photographs of the event to put on the gallery? I'd love to see them!
