Do you buy your bread locally in Corsham or from the supermarket? An article this morning on the Daily Mail alleged that our usual supermarket bread was full of ‘hidden secrets’ such as unnatural additives that alter the taste of the bread as well as the nutritional value.

They don't make it like they used to... unless you buy it from a local shop.
Here in Corsham though, according to the Real Bread Campaign, we have a number of local shops that meet the Real Bread Campaign standard. This means their made without ‘improvers’, addictives or processing aids, instead made with natural good ingredients.
Our two local bread shops listed in the Real Bread Campaign are Neston Park Farm Shop and The Cheeseboard in Bradford-on-Avon.
Is it important that we keep our local bakeries? How often do you use them?
I do tend to get the sun dried tomato bread from MyLoaf or a cheese slice if I’m passing through, otherwise end up getting my bread from the Sainsburys supermarket.
When parking was free I used to buy more things locally and although it’s only thirty pence to park for an hour, that’s an extra twenty pence on a loaf of bread in comparison to it being cheaper elsewhere.
Now we’ve got a Co-Op to take over from Somerfield, will that put our local bakery out of business? I don’t think so, but what is your opinion?
