Wiltshire is currently fifty-first in the ‘Earth Hour’ UK & Ireland sign-ups to turn off their lights for an hour this Saturday.

‘Earth Hour’ takes place on the 27th of March at 8.30pm, organised by WWF, who want people to show they care about climate change.

The sign-up challenge on the Earth Hour page displays the county sign-ups which display an interactive 3D map. You can find out where your country ranks and how many more sign-ups are needed for it to move up a space.

WWF want a billion people around the world to join in switching off their lights for sixty minutes, but will anyone in Corsham rise to the challenge?

Will you be turning off your lights and do you think it’s a good idea?

Fear not, you won’t just be sitting in the dark with your family, waiting for the hour to be up. WWF have a number of activities you can take part in to pass the time. They suggest holding a ‘Be Bright Quiz’ or asking your local pub to hold a special event to raise money for WWF.

Why not hold a candlelit dinner party, organise a movie night or set up an acoustic gig? There are so many options and there are plenty of ideas to spark your imagination if you take part in the challenge.

So go on – sign up – and for those that have, post here and let’s see how many Corsham People will be helping the WWF.
