Corsham French Market a Great Success

Now that Corsham has recovered from the French Market organised by the Corsham Twinnings Association, share your opinion on the day. The event took place on Saturday the 10th of July on Corsham High Street with a market, music and refreshments as well as entertainment.

What did you think of the Corsham French Market?

According to the Corsham Twinning Association page, “Corsham has enjoyed a twinning relationship with the town of Jargeau in France since 1981.”

The high street was transformed with French flags, the scent of barbeques and the sight of numerous people in berets with some even attempting a tad unconvincing French accents.

Chairman of the Corsham Town Council, Allan Bosely, was manning one barbeque and sporting a rather fetching beret.

Mr Bosely commented on the successful event and said: “The French Market has gentil written all over it.” Do you agree?

The Corsham Wind Band Association were at the event, drawing a crowd outside Jaipur’s Indian Restaurant where free samples of food were being given out.

Along the high street, Theodora’s Flower Shop had a vivid orange display. They were supporting Holland in the World Cup and were giving out flowers and fruit punch (also orange in colour) to passers-by. Sadly for them it did not appear to help Holland’s chances.
