Darrann has been producing these quirky but endearing works of art for three years. “It is quite a recent sort of development. It was just a case of trying out some canvasses. That lead to a couple of Arts and Crafts fairs. They have been really popular,” said Darrann whose work has also been displayed in the Pound Arts Centre.
His work is a mixture of strange creatures that interest both young and old with a “broad range of appeal.”
As for his inspirations, he jokingly replied, “People think it’s drugs. It’s things that pop into my mind.” These characters he paints with acrylics can emerge when he’s just looking at little blots on the carpet, he confessed.
Have a look at the cute and creepy critters at the next event Darrann will be attending nearby on his page. See if his creations bring a smile to your face and prove as popular as they were at the Science Fiction fair.
