Casuals Hit The April Road

Corsham
band Corinthian Casuals have announced details of a four date ‘mini tour’ of
North Wiltshire that will be taking place over the next couple of weeks.
At a
hastily arranged press conference at the Jaipur Indian restaurant this lunch time, lead singer and rhythm guitarist Stu Joslin revealed that the gigs,
which he has dubbed the ‘Local Zeros Inc.’ tour, will start at Corsham’s very
own Two Pigs on Monday 11th April, and then take in Bradford on Avon
and Box before ending in Atworth nearly two weeks later.
‘We’ve
been off the road and in the rehearsal studio for the past couple of weeks,
getting our teeth into some new covers and also breathing some life into old
ones.' said Joslin, in between mouthfuls of his favoured Chicken Madras. 'I think we’re sounding really good and can’t wait to unleash our latest
stuff onto the people that come to the gigs, and see what they think.’
'It's great that we're kicking off the shows in our home town and at the Two Pigs once again, it's always an honour and a pleasure to play there and we always look to raise our game and give that little bit extra for the home supporters, as it were. And if they're sufficiently impressed that they want to buy a CD at the end of the night, all the better!'
When
asked if the band, the rest of which consists of lead guitarist Alex Mitchell,
21, bass guitarist John Boddington, 23 and drummer Tom Page, 19, had been
working on any new original material, 22 year old Joslin remained coy, and
blamed himself for any stalling in the creative process.
‘I’ve
been writing bits and pieces over the last few months, but nothing has come as
easy as ‘Pop Band’ did as of yet…that song was done and dusted in about fifteen
minutes, and that kind of tune only comes along once in a while. I’m doing my
best though and there are a few things in the works – I’ve got one called ‘What
I Just Don’t Have’ that I’m pretty proud of and I’m planning to let the boys
loose on soon.’
Joslin
also revealed that the band will be followed by video cameras during the course
of the two weeks they’re ‘on the road’, for a new self produced documentary
about the band.
‘It’s not
the first time we’ve tried to do something like this - we made a film last May,
when we played eight gigs in four weeks – but it runs to over an hour so it’s
impossible to get it on the web. Hopefully this time round we’ll be able to get
it onto YouTube in a few parts, to give viewers an inside look at what it’s
like to be in the band. It’s mostly sitting in the van and arguing about
whether The Sweeney is better than Minder, but we’ll edit that out and just
keep the interesting bits in.’
Full
dates for the tour are listed below - all gigs are free to attend and
will start at around 9pm.
Monday 11th
April – Two Pigs, Corsham
Friday 15th April – Three Horseshoes, Bradford on Avon
Saturday 16th April – Queens Head, Box
Friday 22nd April – White Hart, Atworth

Corinthian Casuals! How did the tour go? I bet you guys are a bit exhausted after all that? Will you be playing the Pig and Jig this year? Last year was the most amazing atmosphere - you guys have to play there again.
