Councils often blame icy weather for the deterioration in road surfaces. OK technically true, water gets into small holes and cracks in the road, freezes, expands and makes the hole bigger. Of course if they had repaired the road while the holes were minimum and it was cheaper to do so, the B3109 Bradford Road outside Rudloe estate wouldn't be in the state it is now.

You would now get a smoother journey on the moon surface and I have lost count I, as the councilor for Rudloe, and other residents have reported the state of the road since last summer. As an ex motor cyclist I would hate to think of the consequences if a biker got his front wheel stuck in one of those holes. I have been on the phone to Wiltshire Council today pleading with them to sort it as soon as possible and in the meantime impose an emergency 20 mph speed limit on this stretch of road before someone gets hurt.

Thank goodness something is being done about it! The country lanes have really suffered due to the frost and the bad weather doesn't look to be gone just yet.
