The Ministry of Defence in Corsham and the Corsham Town Council are working together on an event to celebrate Armed Forces Day

The plan this year is to hold a march past the Town Hall which will then be accompanied by a fete at the Springfield recreational ground in the afternoon on the 26th of June this year.

This will be taking place on the same day as the Corsham Twinning French Market and the event will aim to bring together the townspeople of Corsham, as well as the service families in the area, and show the public the role of the Armed Forces in this area.

Interserve staff working for the Ministry of Defence in the town have been asked to contribute their skills in the form of balloon modelling, face painting, karaoke or guitar hero, so it should be an entertaining event for all.

The Corsham Twinning French Market always proves to be a welcome event, for Corsham town is twinned with that of Jargeau in France. Keep checking the gallery for updates on the last trip to the twinned town that looked to be a very enjoyable event.

More information about the Armed Forces Day and the Corsham Twinning French Market will be on the Corsham People soon. If you have any information on the events, have participated before or would like to add your views, please do so in the form of an article or add your comments below.

I am due to move to Corsham in June with my family and we are looking forward very much to being back in the West Country; in particular Wiltshire.  I am a Devizes lad originally have family dotted around locally; my wife is from Bristol.

What we are looking forward to the most is being part of a truly joint community; local and military together.  Corsham has always had a long and defined history with the UK Armed Forces and as a Serving member I am looking forward to this event very much,  my wife and I intend to make this the first event we attend as a family in our new home.

We're very pleased to be coming home to Wiltshire and specifically Corsham, so much so we are looking to stay and settle back home where we belong long term.

I am on the Council working group that is planning this event.  It is still in it's early stages but we plan it to be big, good and fun.  Most importantly of all it is to send out a message to the Armed Forces of Corsham.  That message is - THANK YOU!
