Charles Collingwood from the Archers, the longest running soap-opera in the world, was in the Corsham Bookshop this morning signing copies of his book ‘Brian and Me’.

“So far it’s looking good,” said Charles, bordered by his highly praised books on the wet Saturday morning.

Rain was lashing the windows and yet still people braved the weather (that Collingwood jokingly likened to that of France), a couple travelling from Strafford to get their own editions of ‘Brian and Me’ signed.

“I think it’s a bit of fun,” the radio actor said with a smile, “It’s a perfect Mother’s Day present. Every mother should have one.”

The book was inspired after Charles was often told he was very anecdotal and decided that before it was too late, he’d write all his stories down. The actor has been to a number of book signings but was greatly impressed by the Corsham Bookshop.

“It’s lovely to come to what I call a proper book shop.”

With numerous quirky books and beautiful displays, the Corsham Bookshop is truly a ‘proper’ bookshop. Keep checking the signs and notices in the establishment to see when there are future book signings with local personalities or celebrities.

You can catch up on Archer’s episodes online with their podcasts.
