We are nearly half way into Corsham Festival now, and it certainly started with a bang with two sell out shows on the first night!

Flamenco Jazz was well received with a standing ovation during the encore and had audience members still dancing when they came out of the auditorium! Up and coming star Sam Carter, winner of the Horizon Award for best newcomer in the 2010 BBC Folk Awards captivated the audience with his songs about his own life experiences so far in the intimate surroundings of the Studio.

There are still tickets available for the events later this week - the most popular ones being The Making of a Garden, the lunchtime talk on Friday 25 June, and Daphna Sadeh & The Voyagers, a group of musicians who combine Mediterranean Sephardic, Jewish and Arabic traditions on Friday evening. Book asap to avoid disappointment!

Other highlights from the week are O Duo, the cover stars for this year's festival programme will be performing on Thursday 24 June, their fun and entertaining performances are hugely popular with audiences of all ages. Their repertoire spans for 300 years and is a mix of popular classics and accessible contemporary music.

Bacon is a one-man show based on a day in the life of Francis Bacon, arguably the greatest British painter since Turner. Pip Utton is no stranger to Corsham Festival and returns with another powerful and evocative performance.

The closing Saturday of the Festival has a wonderful mix of family shows and world music. Honey, an entertaining journey into the life a bee and it's relationship with man kind in this delightful 30 minute show suitable for all the family. Pregnant?! is an astonishing multi-media performance work, delivered by a pseudo-pregnant male, who traces his epic journey on an overly intimate relationships with those closest to himself, in the broadest sense it is about 'family'. And finally, Corsham Festival finishes with Ancient Futures, where ancient traditions and digital technology are brought together in a brilliant collaboration between the African Classical Music Ensemble and multimedia visual artist Sunara Begum.
