One of Schubert's best loved song cycles, Die Schöne Müllerin follows a young man as he strides out into the world full of optimism for his future. However, when he discovers that his love for a miller's daughter is unrequited as she is wooed be a gallant huntsman, jealously ensues, resulting in desolation and finally death.
