I live in Pickwick.. Enough said on the traffic front! Someone told me there is a tarmac that can be used that lowers road noise . Is this true and if yes why can't we have some?

Its just not Pickwick, its the A4 going up past Copenacre.
If you listen during the main travel times you can hear the traffic niose from this stretch of road for quite a distance around the town.
Wouldnt we all benifit from having a quiter road surface along this stretch of A4.
Maybe more people should be asking the same question

I think there are a good few roads around Corsham, Pickwick and Box which are always busy. We're quite small and the town and surrounding villages are very old - it's not designed for this amount of traffic. There are some parts, especially around the Box area, where it's a bit of a squeeze for some of the bigger lorries.

Gastard is quite busy with traffic and when the big lorries go down they don't seem to anticipate that there's a bend at the bottom of the road. Always hearing the breaks squeaking as they trundle down the hill.
