INSPIRATION 418TRUST
We are a Corsham based charity supporting a Ugandan orphanage just outside of the capital Kampala.We were founded in 2006 after one of our members visited the orphanage and found that although other charities were supplying buildings and ensuring a supply of fresh water to the orphans there wasnt actually anybody feeding these children. So we formed our charity to concentrate on the feeding of these children.There are 120 children and around 10 widowed ladies who agree to look after the orphans in exchange for a safe place to live and their meals.
Our main fundraising event is Moniques Big breakfast (Monique being our founding member) We have held these in the early days in the Corsham Baptist church and more recently in the Rudloe community hall. We have been running these events twice yearly since 2007. We pride ourselves on the fact we do not charge for the breakfast,instead we rely on peoples generosity and only ask they give what they can afford.As well as the breakfast we also hold an Auction of Promise on the day and give people the opportunity to bid for some fantastic prizes.In the past we have had meals for two donated by local pubs, a falconry experience, vouchers to the theatre, signed football shirts and many more things.
Many of our supporters also raise funds by doing their own events.
Each month we need to send £1300 to the orphans to keep them fed with a well- balanced diet. We havent missed a month in 5 years.We currently have sufficient funds for the next month,so you can see we are not a wealthy charity. Our next big breakfast is on the 9th July and will be held at the Corsham Community centre We begin serving at 8am and take the last order at 1130.
