Did you know that a revised planning application has been submitted to build on the lawn of the beautiful 17th Century Almshouses?

The Trustee's want to build nine, one bed apartments for disabled and able bodied single people, which would mean no gravel drive and a need for pathways all over the place. The plans can be viewed at the Council offices, Monkton park, Chippenham. What I don't understand is why there? The offer of an alternative site is genuine, I believe it would be near Jargeau Court, so why not there, the Trustee's could still call it an Almshouse as there are new build ones out there if you google Almshouses!!
All very curious if you ask me!
