WESTWELLS ROAD

Thank you for making my journey home safer. I work at MOD Corsham and how wonderful it is to see no cars parked along Westwells Road due to the double yellow lines. I can pull out of camp with a clear view either side and not have to just hope nothing is coming down the hill too fast. Parking is not a problem at all. So where are all the cars parked now? And why where people so lazy not to park there before even though they were asked. Thank you local council, but isn't a pity you have to threaten people before they will conform.

What would be a solution to that? Should there be a waiting area for people? I think there's pros and cons for the double yellow lines, but in my personal experience it's been so much easier to navigate that road now during rush hour. I think the buses are having an easier time now.

ReportThe double lines along Westwells Road are unnecessary on both sides of the road. The road is wide enough for cars to be parked safely in the parking area outside the shop, with no adverse affect on the safety of the road. Why, therefore, cannot this area be extended down at least as far as the entrances to the MOD sites? They could be restricted to one or two hours only, preventing all day parking but allowing people to wait to drop off and pick up people. At present, people waiting to be picked up have to wait in the unlit area by the parking spots with no shelter. The current arrangement is badly thought through, illogical, and the wrong solution to the wrong problem.

ReportThe cars are all parked in the car parks - my point was why didn't they park there before the yellow lines?
