What do you think about your Corsham internet and is it fast enough? The Wiltshire Council recently released feedback from their questionnaire about internet speeds in Wiltshire.

Previous comments on the Corsham People about internet speeds included one from local business Corsham Print Ltd, who said: "Leafield Industrial Estate is terrible, the internet is an essential tool for most business today and unless improvements are made business will leave the estate and relocate in other towns with faster access."

A spokesperson from the Wiltshire Council said: "Work to bring superfast broadband across the county is underway, and is expected to make a real difference to communities and businesses."

Feedback from Wiltshire locals revealed that 40% of people reported internet speeds of less than 2mbps. What is your internet speed?

Other feedback revealed 25% of people in the survey indicated their connection was not adequate for all the things they wanted to it and 80% of local businesses indicated that internet connection is critical to their success.

Nearly 50% who gave feedback described their internet connection as poor.

I wish they would do something about this rubbish internet. What's the point in having all these things like iPlayer and YouTube when it doesn't work for half of us in Corsham? I hear a lot of locals still don't have a computer and with the speed of our internet, there seems hardly any point in having one!

If an area does not have at least fibre optic to the cabinet or a fibre optic network from another provider. Then your internet is not fast or stable enough. The case for fast decent broadband in the UK has been made.

Endless surveys by Councils and others prove nothing and waste time. Perhaps that is the idea? We have for want of a better name a quango - Broadband Delivery UK - that is not actually delivering anything.
