Public Service Cuts Protest in Corsham

On Thursday 30th June hundreds of thousands of workers will strike in protest at the government's plans to cut public sector jobs, pay and pensions. A Day of Action will take place at Corsham MOD to protest the cuts, with organisers feeling that they will have a dramatic effect on public services.

"It's all systems go for a successful Day of Action on June 30th 2011," said Dave Goldsbrough, a spokesperson for the strike in Corsham. "[The] BEC is busy making all the necessary arrangements, including safe picketing and demonstration arrangements."
Organisers will also be contacting other TU Branches in the area including the teachers and lecturers unions. They urge those who want to help in any way to get in touch via their website.
Further details of any local rallies and family events will be listed on their website. For those thinking of joining in with the Day of Action, notifications of the day will be put up on the site.
