The vacancy for a parent governor at Corsham School was open to parents, foster-parents and guardians.
Those wishing to stand for election as a parent governor, needed to be proposed by a parent of a student registered at the school and to be seconded by another parent of a pupil registered at the school.
Linda Millward, Clerk to the Governors at Corsham School, wrote of the new appointment on the Corsham School blog: "Usually if the number of those nominated exceeds the number of vacancies, an election by secret ballot would take place, however, because there are currently three vacancies for Co-opted Governors, it was decided that an election by secret ballot would not be necessary."
She continued: "Therefore, Mr Loake will become a Parent Governor and Mr Robson will become a Co-opted Governor."
