While the rest of the country has seen some snow, Wiltshire has been lucky however Friday forecasters warn ice and snow is on its way for the county.

Temperatures this week have dropped considerably causing roads to be icy and Wiltshire Council has been gritting the roads.

Temperatures are expected to get as low as -5 degrees in the night and early mornings.

The Met Office has issued a 'be prepared' warning for Wiltshire as snowy weather comes across from the South East.

Around 10-15cm of snow is expected to fall and more may fall on Saturday.

The Met Office states: "Clearly there is the potential for severe disruption and the public are advised to watch for updates to this warning and be prepared to alter travel plans."

Wiltshire Council's road gritting and snow clearance scheme can be found on their website here.
