Free computer workshops are being offered to parents and/or carers of students in Years 7, 8 and 9 at the Corsham School.

Charlie Parsons, ELE Manager at the Corsham School, wrote on the school's blog: "You are invited to attend one of the following free Computer Workshops, at The Corsham School in R21, from 7pm to 9.15pm. The workshops are for all Parents/Carers of Years 7, 8 and 9 who would like to improve their own IT skills, in order to support their child at home."

The IT skills workshops will cover the following areas:

 - Basic IT skills if required

 - What to look for when buying a computer

 - Internet searching

 - Getting the most out of the Corsham School's Parent Portal

 - Using the Corsham School email system

 - Revision resources including Sam Learning, Birchfield and Subject  -  - Home Sites

 - Microsoft Office  2010 introduction (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Parsons added: "These are hands on workshops where you will be able to build confidence and ask questions. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Your allocated date will be confirmed by letter once all the applications are in. Remember that these workshops are for Parents/Carers only and no children should attend. Please contact me if you require any more information."
