Free Computer Workshop for Parents of Corsham School Students

Free computer workshops are being offered to parents and/or carers of students in Years 7, 8 and 9 at the Corsham School.

Want to brush up on your IT skills and have a child at Corsham School? Now is your chance.
Charlie Parsons, ELE Manager at the Corsham School, wrote on the school's blog: "You are invited to attend one of the following free Computer Workshops, at The Corsham School in R21, from 7pm to 9.15pm. The workshops are for all Parents/Carers of Years 7, 8 and 9 who would like to improve their own IT skills, in order to support their child at home."
The IT skills workshops will cover the following areas:
- Basic IT skills if required
- What to look for when buying a computer
- Internet searching
- Getting the most out of the Corsham School's Parent Portal
- Using the Corsham School email system
- Revision resources including Sam Learning, Birchfield and Subject - - Home Sites
- Microsoft Office 2010 introduction (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Parsons added: "These are hands on workshops where you will be able to build confidence and ask questions. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Your allocated date will be confirmed by letter once all the applications are in. Remember that these workshops are for Parents/Carers only and no children should attend. Please contact me if you require any more information."
