Give your view on Wiltshire's broadband speeds in comparison to nearby counties.
Yesterday, Wednesday 6th July 2011, Ofcom released an interactive broadband map which compares the speed of internet connection in different locations.
The Telegraph described the map as showing the "painful inequalities" across the country. How do you feel about our county's broadband speed?
In Wiltshire, the average synch speed is 6.8 Mbit/s and the percentage of people receiving less than 2 Mbit/s is 14.4 per cent. Less than half of the county have superfast broadband availability.
Our county scores an overall score of three from Ofcom, which is the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries. The map of the county (available here through this link) ranks counties from one to five, with one offering the highest or fastest broadband coverage and five offering the lowest or slowest.
What is your internet speed like? Do you think it needs improving and have you noticed a difference between internet speeds in our county compared to others?
What is your view on how much you pay for broadband? Do you feel you receive the speed you pay for?

I work from home, supporting computers in the United States so I rely on my Internet connection for everything. I have a Business Class DSL from PlusNet. Reliability is excellent, speed is around 4-5MB/s most day. I would dearly love fibre!

ReportWe are living in the Dark Ages at Gastard. The internet is so bad, you spend forever watching the spinning disc of hopelessness. As for watching programmes you missed on iPlayer you might as well not bother. I would love to have the Sky package with the Internet but it would be a waste of money.

ReportLeafield Industrial Estate is terrible, the internet is an essential tool for most business today and unless improvements are made business will leave the estate and relocate in other towns with faster access.
