Corsham Poster Competition from Wiltshire Recycling Centre

Residents of Wiltshire have managed to divert an amazing one million tonnes of waste from landfill and to mark this occasion, they are asking for Wiltshire students for help. Are you Corsham kids up to the challenge?

Get creative and you could win a £20 voucher and a laptop for your school!
"Design a poster to encourage people to recycle more and stand a chance to win £20 for yourself and a computer for your school," said a spokesperson from The Hills Group, who run a local recycling centre.
The winning poster will be used across the county to help the recycling centre get to the next million tonnes of waste diverted, so crack out the pens and pencils and start getting creative.
One Million Tonnes is equivalent to:
- The weight of more than 500 Stonehenges
- 16,000 Challenge 2 Main Battle Tanks
- Two Silbury Hills
- More than 29,000 unladen Hercules aeroplanes
- Approximately 1.1million Wadsworth Shire horses
- 153 Salisbury Cathedral spires
- 66 billion empty aluminium soft drink cans
- 7.3 billion iPhones
- A million average sized family cars
- Approximately 12.5 million average washing machines
The competition is open to Wiltshire Schools, those years one to eleven. Check out the Hills Recycling website for rules and further details. The closing date for the poster competition is 30th September 2011.
What is your view about recycling in your community? Have you been to the Hills Recycling Centre?
