How have the new Corsham Parking Charges affected you or your business?
We've had nearly a month of the new council car parking charges in Corsham, what are your views on the rise? Have you noticed a change in the amount of people who come to the town?
The changes were announced by Wiltshire Council in December and had a number of Wiltshire towns put into bands. Share your views and opinions on the change.
The new blog started by the Corsham Chamber of Commerce has a number of details.
"We are hoping that people will find the blog a useful source of information, and will feel free to add their views," wrote a Corsham People user, Itseeze Websites, when sharing the page with us.
The blog has details the range of seasons tickets which can be purchased to save you money if you are parking in Corsham every day.
The refund scheme is also important to remember: some Corsham business will refund the cost of your parking.
"We must not forget the refund scheme - it isn't all bad news as far as parking is concerned," added Itseeze Websites, "I will put a list of participating retailers on the blog - the scheme is in the process of being 'refreshed' so look out for updates as well. We hope that part of the refresh will involve new publicity for the scheme in the town centre."

What IS the money spent on - I agree CorshamTowny - I'd like to know where all this money is going and to see if the increase of parking charges is benefiting Corsham. Why can't the Wiltshire Council keep towns and villages more informed on what on earth is going on?

ReportRetailers participating in the refund scheme will obviously make up for it by charging all their customers more for their goods than they otherwise would. This is hardly fair on non-car shoppers.
By introducting car park charges in the first place the council sounded the death knell for Corsham retailers and by upping the charges have hastened their inevitable demise.
I really do wonder what Wiltshire Council spend all this money on. It certainly isn't maintaining the roads in Corsham. Although part of my road was resurfaced about 5 years ago the section in front of my house hasn't been resurfaced in the 23 years I've lived here. How many diversity outreach officers are assigned to Corsham I wonder?
