The Corsham E***enical Group said: "We are planning to give out Christmas hampers to the families in our community who are referred to us as being most in need over the festive season. Each family will receive a box of food plus some additional Christmas items."
The Co-Op supermarket in Corsham, the Corsham Tourist Information Centre, and the group's church partners, have customised collection bins for donations of food to the Corsham Food Bank. The purchase of these special collection bins from Leafield Plastics was made possible by donations from The Lord Methuen Trust Cafe Neston.
"Please continue to give generously by putting items of packaged and tinned food into those bins."
The Food Bank received many donations from the Harvest festivals held in the town this autumn and those items approaching their sell-by dates were given to local homelessness projects, such as Doorway in Chippenham and other local food banks. Most items given to the food bank have been tucked away in the stores, ready to be distributed to those in need of a few day's supply of food.
"Since our launch in May we have given out approximately one box of food for each week to people in our area who were referred to us by health and welfare services."
The Corsham Food Bank is open at St Aldhelm's Church in the centre of the town every Saturday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and Tuesday mornings from 10.00am to 11.30am.
Look out for the customised food bins when you're out and about in Corsham.

It's a good thing to support local charities and see them doing work in your own community. Often it feels like you're throwing money at these big organisations and never seeing what they do for people in your area.
