Seventy CCTV clips have been released by detectives reviewing the investigation into the disappearance of South African born Donovan Van Lill, a Corsham Rugby player from Chippenham. The fresh appeal to the public includes 70 CCTV images showing individuals and vehicles they want to identify.

The Deputy Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Don Stirton said: "Following the acquittal of Martin Sugden in April this year we made it clear that we would review the investigation and follow any new lines of enquiries as necessary."

Twenty nine year old Donovan went missing from his home in Blackthorn Mews, Chippenham on 3rd March 2010.

The CCTV images were posted on the Wiltshire Police website on Tuesday 2nd August and officers will be distributing leaflets and talking to people living in and around the Pewsham estate where Donovan lived to raise awareness of the appeal.

Donovan's case is being re-examined after a man who was charged with Donovan's murder pleaded not guilty and was acquitted by a jury after a four week trial this year.

A team of 16 officers and staff from the Operation Brunel major crime investigation team, led by Detective Chief Inspector Simon Crisp, is re-investigating Donovan's disappearance.

As part of their new enquiries, officers have identified more CCTV footage from The Old Lane pub close to Donovan's home that shows a number of people and vehicles that police want to identify as part of the their investigation.

The CCTV was taken between 9am & 11am on Wednesday 3rd March 2010, the day Donovan was last seen.

A total of 70 clips from the CCTV have been posted on the Wiltshire Police website www.wiltshire.police.uk.

Officers have previously viewed and released footage from the pub CCTV camera, but are releasing further images as part of a wider appeal.

Detective Inspector Don Stirton added: "This CCTV is from the day that Donovan disappeared and shows individuals and vehicles near a pub close to his home in Blackthorn Mews. We are appealing for help identifying these individuals and vehicles and are urging people to view the CCTV on the force website. I would appeal directly to the individuals themselves to come forward so we can remove you from our enquiries as necessary."

Officers will be distributing leaflets in and around the Pewsham estate where Donovan lived during the week to help highlight the appeal.

"We are also continuing to appeal to anyone with any information surrounding Donovan's disappearance to contact the police or Crimestoppers who have offered a £5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and subsequent conviction," continued the Detective Inspector, "It is important to emphasise that no matter how small or insignificant you think your information is we would urge you to contact Wiltshire Police."

Anyone with any information in relation to the disappearance of Donovan Van Lill or who recognise the individuals and vehicles pictured can contact Wiltshire Police on 0845 408 7000. Alternatively people can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if they wish.
