Badger Culling in Corsham: For or Against?
By R_Ferrier | Sunday, June 12, 2011, 08:54
A recent poll by the BBC suggests that the UK public are opposed to the badger cull. Corsham is quite a rural area and I've heard many a farmer say that badgers are a problem for them, what with the threat of cattle tuberculosis.

Above is a possible badger sett in Corsham. What is your view on the badger cull debate?
Do you agree with a badger cull and do you think Corsham needs one? Or are you with the portion of the UK who feel that badgers should not be killed over the threat of TB to cattle?
According to the BBC, the coalition government has pledged to introduce culling to England, but recently admitted it may not happen.
Badgers can carry the bacterium that causes TB and can transmit the disease to cattle herds. Are you a farmer in Corsham or have you heard of this being a problem in our area?
The poll results found that 63% of the thousand adults polled by phone said that badgers should not be killed over the threat of TB to cattle, but there was 31% in favour of the culling. The remainder who participated in the poll were undecided.

This is a very sad story and the cull, I feel, has very little reasoning behind it all. Apparently it's supposed to begin in WIltshire the next few weeks? I am quite against the idea.

The idea that a Cabinet minister could behave like this towards police officers doing their job is an utter disgrace. It tells you all you need to know about this out-of-touch Government and its attitude to public servants and people of Britain.

We had a mix of reactions via social media and it's still a hot issue for rural communities.
