Armed Robbery at Corsham Newsagent

An armed robbery took place Monday evening at a Corsham newsagent. Wiltshire police are appealing for further information.

The incident took place at Oakley's Newsagent, Pickwick Road, Corsham. If you have any information contact DC Chesshire or Crimestoppers on the numbers below. Any details may be left anonymously if preferred.
A man entered the store at approximately 8:45 pm on Monday 19th March 2012. He threatened staff with a weapon and demanded that they hand over cash. The man then left the store with the cash in a bag.
Fortunately no one was injured during the incident.
The man is described as white, approximately 5'6 tall and was wearing a dark coloured hoodie and tracksuit bottoms.
DC Jo Chesshire, who is investigating the incident, said: "This was a frightening incident for the staff and fortunately no one was injured. Robbery is a very serious offence and we are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry to identify the offender."
DC Jo Chesshire added: "To assist our investigation we are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any information regarding the man responsible to contact us."
